Is it difficult to practice SUP yoga?

By adding water to the activity, the stability of the core necessary to achieve each pose correctly increases tremendously. We can say that this discipline will certainly be a challenge. Maintaining balance is quite difficult at first but it is also a great and fun way to transform a usual Yoga practice.

Is SUP Yoga for everyone?

All levels welcome. Even if you have never done yoga or paddle surf before.
As yoga teachers we are constantly finding new ways to guide first-timers, and keep more advanced practitioners engaged. We always offer variations of the postures and each one adapts to them according to their experience.

What we do in SUP Yoga classes?

SUP yoga practice

We start with a brief explanation on the beach on how to use the paddle board . We took the paddles, 20 minute guided tour through the breathtaking area, -to have time to get familiar with the board and to put the heart to pump when we settle in an area, we move as a group from one posture to another. We finish with sitting meditation and Savanasa. Imagine the warm sun warming your body, the salty aroma of the sea and the tips of your fingers caressing the water while floating on your board. It is a blessing. ”

What if I don’t have balance?

If at the beginning you cannot stand up for the initial run, that’s fine, you can go on your knees or sitting while you get used to the board.

When?

It can be in the morning normally 10 a.m or in the evening normally 5.p.m. We will confirm with you time and location

We have to main location one in the south of the island and one in the north of Ibiza. Depending on the weather the location may change.We will confirm with you time and location.

What is SUP Yoga?

Stand Up Paddle = SUP . Stand Up Paddle + Yoga = SUP Yoga, is practicing yoga on a Stand Up Paddle board floating on the water. During Stand Up Paddle yoga classes the board is anchored so it is safe and you won’t float away! Stand Up Paddle yoga is very good for strengthening the core, improving balance, relaxing and bringing a smile on your face.

Do I need to be able to swim?

Yes, you need to be able to swim. If you fall into the water, that you probably will, it is part of the fun. You will have the board to hold onto should you not be a confident swimmer.

Will I fall off?

Maybe! We hope you fall that´s mean you are trying and it is part of the fun.
If you fall, you are trying! Classes in Ibiza are only done in the summer so falling into the water is part of the fun. Falling off the board is almost the most wonderful thing of it all. The contrast of sun heat and fresh ocean water, plus the stamina of loosing control, will produce a mega boost in our nervous system and circulation.

Do you have to be good at Yoga?

Do you need to know how to use a Stand Up Paddle board?

The water in Ibiza, in the places where we practice is quite calm and the boards we use are wide and very stable, making it very easy to learn to practice paddle surf. In the SUP Yoga classes if at first you do not dare to stand up, no worries you can go on your knees or sitting.
